HOT!

My air conditioner broke down at the end of last year and I decided that since I hardly used it that I wouldn't get it repaired. Right now I'm wondering what I was thinking.

My poor cats, with their fur coats, are so hot that they have taken to the basement during the day into the early evening. When they do come upstairs for any period of time they are actually panting. Poor things. I wonder if it would help if I dip their paws in cold water - I'll see how it goes.

Even my fish are in water that is 4 degrees hotter than the maximum recommended temperature. Hopefully they will survive this heat wave. I have two Colombian catfish (seen in photo above but now they are about 4" long), two Yoyo Loaches and a Gold Barb (which is much smaller than the other fish).

I wonder if I could actually fry an egg if I put my black cast iron frying pan out in the sun and let it heat up first. Hummm, maybe that is something I should try.
